Enter: FALL – an Update

I don’t know if it’s actually fall here or not – it looks like fall, it feels like fall, but the calendar is a month wrong if it is fall, at least for here; it was just a few years ago where I was whinging because it was 102 the day before the equinox, and now this year, it’s been wet, grey, and 70s for 2 days in a row the week before the equinox. Fall isn’t supposed to happen here until October! And, if fall’s early, what do you suppose that means for that *W* word that follows it? I AM SO NOT READY!! I want 2 months of fall! Is that too much to ask??? I haven’t seen a hummingbird the last couple of days, either, so if they are already gone, then that definitely is not a good sign. The bats are still here, though, but I expect not for much longer…

In stitching news, I kept on with Secret Victorian Garden all week, and got parts 6 & 7 both done on the top house (except beads – there’s only 2 and then a few crystals which always go on at the end, so I’ll do those 2 beads then, too – less start/stop for threads). I got a start on the left house, too. Here’s the overall:

And then a detail of the top house – the picture doesn’t show it, but the blackwork in the 3 windows is bronze metallic:

My BC Autumn Row saw progress at IHOP on Friday – I wasn’t distracted by shopping this time 🙂 I think I am going to make it and Spooky Row both into no-sew cubes (okay, no-sew really long rectangles) – god knows I don’t need 2 more things to frame, and that way, I don’t have to look for a place to hang them, then have blank spots for the rest of the year 🙂 Here’s where I stopped:

That’s it for the progress. In other news, DID YOU SEE THE NEW RELEASES FROM GLENDON PLACE??? Cheryl is as bad as Tracy Horner! Look at these:

Glendon Place Autumn Ala Round, on 28ct white chocolate, with lotsa shiny stuff!

And then, this one, which would look so cool with Murky Manor, and Ghool School, if I get it started/done:

Glendon Place Eerie Express on PTP Nocturne.

I have been very good this year, not stashing at all except for my Fabric of the Month from Stephanie, so I guess if it’s time to cave, then so be it 🙂 I am never gonna get all these things done…

That’s the news for the week. I will keep SVG on the floor stand, and hopefully finish the Left house and move on to the right. It would be nice if Autumn Row was done on Thursday, though even though I’m well past half-way on the alphabet itself, I’m not quite through half the chart yet, so I assume there are more pumpkins in my future (no, I haven’t actually looked at it recently). SO check this space next week to see how close I got… Until next week, Happy Stitching!

  1. Nice progress! And I saw the autumn piece too! I still like the eggs all around also. I’ve had the furnace on twice here just to get the chill out. I even made soup for dinner! I think we are supposed to get back up in the 70s this week. I saw a hummingbird on my hibiscus tree and then he actually landed and was still on the back of one of my chairs. I don’t think I had seen one still before.

  2. Nice progress.. I still haven’t made up my mind on the Victorian Garden.. I like your WIP, but I’m not sure it will eventually come to live in my stash. So far Misty Morning Vineyard and Taj Mahal are the two that I want most that I don’t have…

I love your hummingbird pics. We have some right outside the main entrance to the building at work. Every once in a while they’ll zip past me since I tend to not be part of the herd mentality at 7:57 am and 5:00 pm lol.

I thought of you when I saw the new Glendon Place releases – I love them, but since I really don’t do much about Halloween, Autumn Ala Round is probably the only one I’ll actually get…

  3. Beautiful photos! Your stitching is wonderful..SVG is looking great; nice progress on Row, too. Love the new Ink Circles..talk about fall! And speaking of fall, I heard winter was coming early and colder with more snow..at least in the eastern half of the US. Guess we’ll find out!

  4. I love Secret Garden!!!!! I’m am sooooo not ready for fall. We’ve had a lot of rain and it’s been really chilly which makes for long golf matches and soccer games. And as soon as we take the window a/c units out, the temps will hit 95.

  5. Wow – I love the details on SVG – sorely tempted but, as you know, I’m all booked up for 2015. Eventually, I will … Gorgeous photo of the hummingbird. Well done!

  6. Karen, I’m seriously, seriously impressed with all your wonderful stitching! So inspirational, and you have such a wide variety of “genres” in designs, which is soooo interesting! It’s all such eye candy! Thanks for sharing your updates notices on the SSS’as and the DDD’s. I really enjoy them.
