Time is FLYING – an Update

2 weeks + and here I am, finally trying to get an update in, before I go veg on the couch. I can’t believe tomorrow is the 10th already – I’ve barely done any shopping 🙁 Oh well, at some point, you just gotta say Enough is Enough and don’t worry about it anymore 🙂 Speaking of gifts:

The Pink Nightmare is now a Fluffy Nightmare - as in, a finished pillow :)

We had a great Thanksgiving, though it was just us 4, as usual; there was food enough for an army, as usual, and by Sunday, everyone was sick of leftovers. And then actually sick; a virus of some kind went through 3 people and at least 1 dog last week, leaving me with a 9-day headache, the Senior missing 2 1/2 days of school, and DH home sick all week with stomach crap. Dummy had some similar issues all weekend after Thanksgiving; viral or too much people-food? Anyway, glad we’re through it and hope that’s it for viruses for a while. I did get the Christmas decorations out on Friday:

In stitching news, I worked on Noah’s Sub over the 2 weeks since my last update, and now have a complete tiger, some little bird, my first fish, and LOTS of water. I started the Lions, but got to a stopping place on Sunday and called it done for now – I was not looking forward to all of the fractionals in Mr Lion’s mane:

Other stitching I did is minimal and classified, so I’ve got nothing else for Show & Tell this week. Except I DID get a bit of stash 🙂 I have been trying to pick an AAN Christmas Tree to do for months, and couldn’t pick one; then she released the special edition Tree for this year, and I impulsively picked it just so I wouldn’t have to look at them anymore 🙂 NOW – let the dithering over floss, fabric and BEADS begin! Jeanne even brought her big book of DOOM (fabric swatches) and that didn’t help one bit. Not that it’s in my To Be Started Soon list – but you know how I like to be prepared YEARS in advance 🙂

This week, and next, I am working on Lady & Unicorn; I spent a good 2 hours on it last night and didn’t even get 40 stitches, I don’t think; I love when I end on a huge confetti area – NOT! So we’ll see how much progress I can make before I am off for the holidays and STARTAPALOOZA! SO far, these are the designs I plan to start over the holidays and into the New Year:

I’m sensing a color theme to the planned starts – anyone else pick up on that? 🙂 Well, that’s the news – I may have an update next week, or I may not 🙂 Depends on how fast time continues to fly by between now & Fat Man in a Red Suit Day 🙂

This ginormous cactus actually needs its own ornaments - I'll pick some up after Christmas :)

  1. Wow! I know you had a hate/hate relationship with all that pink BUT the cushion looks FABULOUS! Noah’s Ark is so cute and I am glad to hear you’ve been working on L&U – it’s so gorgeous it deserved an outing. I love the colours in Plum Pudding and will be interested to see the rotation you adopt. Have a wonderful Christmas and I hope you avoid all bugs!

  2. oh, sorry to hear about the Thanksgiving aftermath – looks like you had pretty good fun before the bug though.
you accomplished A LOT on (and beneath) that ark, I’m glad you’re making good use of the entire DMC colour palette 😀
your Christmas display is adorable, we decorated the living room/kitchen during the weekend and now I’d like to keep it straight until June.
I can’t wait to see your new starts, very intriguing – and they all promise to be deliver great close ups (oh yeah!).
have fun and enjoy the holiday break! hugs,
    chiara

  3. Love your decorations! The pillow version of the Pink Nightmare came out really well :). Noah’s Sub is looking good as well.. I was SO happy to get it done when I did it!
