September 30th? ALREADY? An Update

Wow, where did this month go? That was the fastest 30 days ever! Okay, maybe not ever, but recently… Of course, I did spend some of it wishing time away in between episodes of Outlander, so that might explain some of the blur 🙂 You might want to go read these recaps of The Wedding, just because: Part 1, Part 2, Part 3. Okay, so where was I? Oh yeah, updating…

I continued to work on Secret Victorian Garden, and you can tell it’s the 3rd repeat on parts of it – there were a few tiny frogs in the right side 🙁 Including using the entirely wrong color of PTB for the blackwork windows – so that was fun tearing it out after I was *this close* to having the 2nd one done 🙁 I forgot there was a brown one not too much darker than the bronze one I actually needed (and since I have the other sides rolled up so I can’t see those parts, even though I thought it was “funny looking”, it didn’t occur to me right away that I just had the wrong color – grrrr). Anyway, I fixed it, and finished the right side:

Since I finished my last travel piece, Autumn Row, I started a new Mill Hill Bead & Button kit, and just to be different, I’m actually doing it on the perforate paper it comes with! Weird, huh? Between Thursday night and then our Saturday PINS get together, I got a pretty good chunk of Believe started:

That’s the progress for the week. This week, I will continue on with SVG, and hope to finish the 4th side of Parts 6 & 7, so I can put it away, and I guess get Samplar 4 Saisons back out and get it done 🙂 Then all I’ve got to finish are the 2 RYO mandalas 🙂 Sounds easier than it is, though, of course. I don’t have much on the calendar for the rest of this week, aside from IHOP on Thursday; the Band Kid had 2 concerts last night – played baritone in one, his trombone in the other. Since this concert was several weeks earlier than they normally have it (they try to schedule it during our f-ball bye week – but this year, that was 3 weeks ago, so…), the show was a bit shorter than normal, since they’ve only been in class for 6 weeks for all 3 big ensembles; the percussion hasn’t even practiced with the rest of the band yet, their performances last night were the first time they’d all played any of their concert music together. And for 6 weeks in, all of the bands sounded pretty great! I also have pics on the camera of the Kid in his new tux, the required dress for the Wind Symphony that was totally not figured into the budget for this week 🙁 Since I didn’t feel like breaking out the computer to pull that picture off last night, it’ll show up later (though, we might do a re-take with the black buttons on his shirt, which he was too impatient to let me do yesterday). That’s the news – until next week, Happy Stitching!

  1. Totally loved the wedding recaps! ROFL! VSG is just beautiful – I love the detail on it. The Mill Hill beading piece looks interesting and I’m looking forward to seeing it develop.

  2. Victorian Garden looks great.. frogs and all! The Mill Hill kit looks good too.. I’m really hoping that things slow down a bit here now that fall is arriving (with what comes after) so I can get some stitching in once in a while… can’t wait to see next week’s progress!

  3. Way to stick to the goals this year! Hate frogging PTB at all, I might have been tempted to leave it as it was unless it was super noticeable. September seemed to blow by here too, let’s just hope February and March do the same! LOL.
